Darthan. The mineral rich capital of the once mighty Baktan Empire. Recently reduced to dust at the hands of the Nakar, the Nagarians and the Lojari. Darthan has been the subject of an extreme political makeover, its cities, landmarks and mountains have been renamed. Its populace, however, remains. Darthan itself is a desert world, three times the size of Earth, with 20% more gravity. It's a dry and desolate place, initially established as a mining station by a former council race. However, a miner's mutiny had caused the original race to abandon the sector completely. Rich in not only helium-3, but also many more metals, many upstart nations had previously tried to claim this planet for their own. The ferocious and brutal cartel defended its territory, and largely does maintain a loose, asymmetrical hold over the planet. Through the use of intensive salt bombs and kinetic bombardment, many of the once proud Baktan criminal gangs have been themselves enslaved to the Nagarian Federation. The capital city of the planet is Nova Nakgarium. A joint colonial city, split into east and west, owned by the Nagarians and Nakar respectfully. Eastern Darthan is owned by the Nagarian Federation, encompassing Kandirkhod, Malakhar, Marundir, Klips and Fhirz. The Nakar regional administration zone covers Forrepkos, Jhanjir, Minur and Gradesh.

Darthan itself is a large desert world, with tectonic activities that are much more violent than those of earths. This leads to the churning of great sand storms. Combined with the harsh scorch of the Yigu Star the only permanent holdings on Darthan are at the "coasts" of the giant rock formations. These sand riding cities offer natural shade and a break in the fault lines of the planet, allowing mining operations to access the much needed riches of Darthan.

Nations on Darthan

The Nakar Empire

Pressing in as a main invading force the Nakar have brutally gouged the planet until it was weak enough to sustain a military invasion. The Nakar continue to port industrial efforts to Darthan to rob it of its riches in a manner more efficient than its human predecessors ever could.

The Nagarian Federation

The Nagarian Federation seek to bolster their human slaves, assisting the Nakar in a goodwill venture whilst taking half of the pearl of Darthan for themselves. The Nagarians are on Darthan to exploit the planet for its labour and resources. Life in the Nagarian zone is harsh, unlike their Nakar counterparts they care not for the whims of humans and don't attempt to understand them. Many Nagarian areas of Baktan resistance have been wiped off the map, many fringe strongholds have been cut off and live in terrifying positions.

The Lojari Freehold

The Lojari have a "Golden Ticket" export pass with the Nakar and the Nagarian zones to export and import goods and labour to the planet of Darthan. This has resulted in large migratory waves of Lojari to the planet of Darthan.

The New Terran Republic

Contrary to original beliefs, the New Terran assets on Darthan, originally evacuated have been largely left alone. New Terran ships come and go to Darthan as they please and the Baktan trade tariffs under the cartel have been replaced by a Nakar-Nagarian stellar tax.

The Baktan Rebels

Fiercely hiding down any alley way, any human populace, many gangsters still loyal to the Baktan hierarchy are angered at their loss of their empire, they will fight tooth and nail to reclaim it, even in the face of certain doom.

Darthan
Klips Coast
Operations Rooms

Amongst the operations room, it was rife with communication requested and situation reports where the victorious land commanders and the few naval officers that required re-armament and re-stock for their vessels. Badagora, General chief of land operations sat in a disorganised hologram table with many schematics and frame works of maps, damage reports and statistics from the recent victory.

His Dascan aide give updates as he pondered his next move.

"Sir, the navies have suffered minimal damage. Ordinance is priority for the navy so Admiral Fraganta is seizing the most part of the transferable assets to possibly continue advancement with the Nakar fleet. That leaves us with what we've got for the ground invasion."

Badagora calmly asked his assistant:

"As for native resistance?"

"Minimal Sir, the marines are conducting joint task forces to strike at key hot zones within the planet's surrounding moons and devolved powers. That this place lack any organised power structure works in our favour. Much easier to stem any sort of collective resistance."

"Marvellous. The ROE that has been sent from Arkoro 01 says to induct a similar system to that of granite cloak."

The general stood and announced to the officers:

"Insure that the warning order is given. Set up checkpoints and roaming division movements on our side of the AOR for citizen induction programmes. Any of the humans that agree to de-arm themselves and their subordinates may stay to contribute to the greater dynamic. Exterminate or process the other to be sent back to Nimbosa for assets management"

Forrepkos
On the Ground

<:: "Captain this might not be going our way if we remain here."

<:: "Achknowledged, we're going to need a screen of artillery on these co-ordinates."

Forrepkos was rebelling. The pesky Baktans, thought Ingur Sagomudir. He witnessed the flames rising as Baktan rebel tanks shot shells his way. Dated human technology, they could subjugate their peers but they were nothing on the power of the Great Dynamic. He raised an arm on his large battlesuit and chipped away a few railgun rounds from his rotary cannon. They gouged through the air, sparking brilliant blue and green only to satisfying slam into a tank at 9 kilometres. The first round impacted blew off the armour plating, like a hand digging through a box of popcorn. The second was what snatched the live. Slamming deep into the armour and removing the turret from the vessel.

There were more coming though. The suit was rocked to the side. An artillery shell landed a few hundred metres from him, the smart warhead shocking his suit and making it stumble. The gyro-stability AI kicked in and forced the legs of the suit to adapt and for the waist to drop. From behind him a battery of nuclear shells was fired. A blotting boom that sent acrid trails across the sky. In the distance, multiple mushroom clouds formed as the neutron bombs exploded, scouring the outer city in brilliant light.

Upper Atmosphere

"Yes Admiral, I understand admiral. Confirmed." Vurt-Nesh looked on the command console with a tactical relay in his ear. He put it down and looked to his XO. "Destroy the city, kinetic bombardment, spinal shot. This rebellion has gone on for too long."

"Roger that Admiral. Preparing solution."

Within a few minutes the ground combat had escalated. The Darthan rebels held their guns to the sky as the Nakar forces evacuated rapidly from the area. A shadow was cast as the dreadnought moved into position in the high orbit, its disgusting profile preparing to unleash Armageddon on their position. It faded in the sun as its thin profile aligned to its target, then, like a hammer being dropped from on high it fired. The weapon started to fall and it forced the highest clouds out of the way like a freight train. Those that had the slight fortune of seeing how they were going to die saw the stick thin rod from a distance as it burst open, deploying MIRVs that broke away from the central high speed sabot. The rod impacted, forcing the ground away as easy as a stone would when it enters the water. The ground rippled for a mile around the target, plunging a huge sinkhole into Forrepkos. The territorial gains made by the rebels were reversed as the Imperial dropships descended on what was left of the fighting force.
