The Arandir Wastes were just as the Nakar had named them. Of course they had many other names, and they were of no interest to anyone in terms of resources. A few silicone based gas clouds; harmful to harvest. A few showers of rock debris, artistically named the Salt fields. The wreck of a civilian freighter, long since picked clean by pirates. Not a lot to mark the system. Its clear space and its crossroads to many nations made it the perfect place for a listening post. Arandir Wastes Nakar Flotilla Systems Edge "We've made it, quantum wave dissipating." The XO said only to immediately cringe at the LIDAR operator, who continued to be sick. "Disappointing Krodesh. If your belly were anywhere near as competent as your mind you'd be the best LIDAR operator in the navy. Captain, we are prepared to fire our probes. we have started an active scan." As he said this, the Jandaevo jumped in to Join the Kurikmanum. The XO smiled and spoke low over the command table "Captain Khurir must have been late to spool. Are you going to rib him for it?" Vurt-Nesh set himself a smug smile as he picked up the TACOM handset. The line clicked and he was connected to Khurir. The line was low quality and raspy, encrypted but not as secure as entanglement. "Are you sure this line is airtight?" "Evidently as airtight as your FTL spooling policy, I count 5 seconds." "Three by our count, relativity and all that." "Three is still later than Zero." mused Vurt-Nesh "If you want to be a queen you should powder your face and go to the imperial palace." With that, the line clicked. Vurt-Nesh bit down hard with his back teeth, only to give a hollow laugh and put the headset down. His XO gave a smug smile. "Orders captain?" Vurt-Nesh paused for a few seconds, mulling over his phone conversation. He then waved a finger back and forth. "Okay, deploy ISR utilities, send out a few probes, open scanning arrays, charge spinal mount, engage our fifth and sixth reactors, load tubes, give the crew something to do. I want maximum range predictions over central Arandir, if there are pirates here, I want them found." Edited by Rookzilla, Jan 14 2018, 06:50 AM.

Arandir Wastes Nakar Flotilla Systems Edge "Alright Vaegis I believe I've seen everything I need to see. Lets destroy some pirates. Spool up FTL and prepare to jump." Vurt-Nesh nodded at his XO. The system was clean, the orders were in and the clock was going to start any moment now. The stealth ship had transmitted the data and the pirate ships in the Baktan Systems had been categorised. Vurt-Nesh put a small piece of paper in a paper recycling terminal, the message was singed off the paper. Captain Khurir crackled through Vurt-Nesh's comms. "I've completed my checks, fighters are in bays and everything is accounted for, we've loaded guns and are preparing standoff munitions, we're fully spooled and we've matched our jump allotment to your own, now we must wait for our brutish brothers to stride in with us." Vurt-Nesh tapped his foot, just a little bit longer now. |
