Armistice Station.![]() Located a couple hundred kilometers from the old Galactic Council, the Armistice station now serves as the new Council. A joint fleet of the participants of the Armistice council defends the station from any possible terrorist attack. The station itself is several decks large, holding living arrangements and offices for diplomats, as well as several quick response security team barracks. The main area, however, is the circular Council compartment, where hundreds of delegates discuss with their translators on current matters they feel need to be addressed. |

Armistice Station Deep Space 3000km from Anchor Point "Raid the forbidden fruit! The crown is the sweetest prize for any king!" The Lojari moved around their ship in the dark, they'd turned off the lights, this stealth ship was critical to the operation they wanted to pull off. "Silence, SILENCE!" a 2nd class warrior spouted. "They have machines that will detect the vibrations your speech will make on this craft, pilot, how far are we from the station!" "Three thousand kilometres, we're cold for that time, uninterrupted, laser cutter is charging under panel, we have enough heat dissipation for 5 minutes. We'll get there in 3. If we get found, pull the distress lever." They were committed, they'd been drifting in space for more than 3 hours now, outside the range of the sensors. Gliding on a predicted path, using no energy at all, simply sifting through the dark sea of space on minimum effort. Nothing had detected them yet, and if they succeeded, they could send a message to the galaxy that would go further than any piece of legislation signed by the council. |

Armistice Station Council Chambers Imperial Box Today's chamber was a reflection of its policies, and, in a way, reflective of the past. Inefficient, slow, some would say useless. The Nakar diplomat Jurian sat with his alien peers, the Imperial booth had grown more and more pronounced in the chamber as the empire took on more and more species, they were seen as regular champions for alien equality. That being said however they didn't limit themselves in their human involvement, there was a human diplomat inside their box as well, in a strange 3 piece suit made of crustacean fibres; an odd sight. Jurian rolled his eyes as the last proceedings came to a close, he had sat through three hours of humans revelling in the sound of their own voice, it was time to push through an agenda worth pushing. "If we are quite finished with the amendment to the asteroid mining composition bill; let us come to more pressing matters. Once again humanity brings itself to the forefront of this chambers, once again for reasons that fail to impress the rest of the galactic community. Piracy, specifically human piracy has been carried on for too long inside what would be viewed as central space. Who are we to new council guests if we cannot even present our galaxy without pirates running amok? Furthermore, what cohesion do we show in these chambers if we; the races of this galaxy, allow our nations to be plundered and our citizens looted from us like coins from a purse?" He replaced the old screens displaying statistics with a new one, a human male separated from his wife, being held ransom by pirates. This was typical from those who operated in Baktan space. They were nobodies, a few pirates looking to make a quick buck. "The Baktan Cartel. This is what happens we as the galactic community fail to act, and what happens when the human republics fail to take responsibility for their organised criminals. If we are to cure this ailment we must first look to the bodies that form this pathogen. Piracy is a virus. An unkempt criminal wave that will never bring its cancerous ways to heel. Some nations in this chamber even go as far as to trade with these men! The man in this photo is James Vurjsugurot; Nakar citizen, galactic ore trader. Did he deserve this? Do any of us? What fate will behold him if we do not act?" A rapid slideshow of screenshots flashes up of some of the more grizzly affairs committed by the Baktan Cartel, gasps abound. "This criminal collective must be stopped. It directly collides with the great dynamic, we as the peoples of all nations should not tolerate suffering and tyranny in our time. Which is why the joint species of the great dynamic are going to announce the creation of a coalition to not only contain, but roll back the Baktan Cartel and dismantle her assets. We must strive to ensure that all populations live by the rules and creeds which we ourselves hold in such high esteem. We cast the vote of the Nakar, Nagarian, the Dascan, the Magharan, the Zarakian and the Men we represent today, who deserve better." Edited by Rookzilla, Jan 13 2018, 08:25 PM.

Armistice Station Council Chambers Lojari Nomadic Kingdom Box The Nomad Kings rarely agreed on much, even less so on anything that happened in space which they would view as contested. The Lojari nomadic box was situated right beside the ascendant box, to the left of the Nagarian box, facing the human nations on the other side of the hall. There was little discussion between the representatives, they had been streaming live, those that needed to hear had heard. The Lojari diplomats rose from their chairs and extended nods between each other, the next words to come out of their mouths were predictable. "We, the representatives of the Lojari Nomads, express concern for the growing development of Human Piracy in the central galaxy, and as such, we are prepared to promote this stance. Human piracy in the central galaxy is a direct threat to the Lojari way of life. The Nomadic Kingdoms are under threat from Baktan expansionism. Furthermore, Lojari assets, history and culture has been stolen by these human marauders and sold on for riches. We cannot tolerate further Baktan expansionism, and as such, we must liberate those who are under Baktan oppression." If they weren't fast enough they might not catch it. The smallest locking of eyes with Jurian, the Nakar diplomat. The response was too quick, too calculated. The Lojari Nomadic Kings were pirates themselves; if there was a party who was clearly benefiting from this policy, it was the Lojari. Armistice Station Council Chambers Lojari Ascendant Box The ascendants; whilst all but destroyed, maintained their council delegation. Three older looking Lojari, pale from being inside the safety of the station so long, still sporting their ceremonial robes. They rose slowly. There was pain in what they were going to say. To agree with the nomads was like pouring your drink on your lap. Alas; they were hardly going to disagree. They stood slowly and spoke into their microphone. "From what we have seen, both historically and in the present; humans, and by an extention; the Baktan cartel, are dangerous. Whilst this notion doesn't extend to call, with special respect to the Commonwealth, the New Terran Empire and the Young Nation of Homosapien Europa we must understand that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. We cannot allow ourselves to be consumed by the deep rooted evil that both strengthened and destroyed nations. We cannot allow the Baktan cartel to develop into another United Systems Coalition. We cannot sit back as we have before and watch worlds go to the torch. I fear my words fall on deaf ears just as they did when the Nomads picked the Ascendant colonies apart, I pray this time; things will be different. We announce our support for our Imperial and Nomadic peers, but we will not be giving support to this anti-piracy effort." |

Armistice Station Council Chambers Nagarian Federation Box The Chief Diplomat of the federation, Caraajin replied with swift conviction. The Lojari, a notorious thorn in the side to any inter system relations had for once made some valuable input to Nagarian interests. "From the stand point of security and moral considerations to the law abiding bodies of this chamber, the Nagarian Federation takes a very strong stance on the possibility of human piracy. The federation and its devolved powers vows to aide the action of anti piracy and the neutralisation of its arbiters. The notion of lawlessness in the surrounding systems threatens the very peace that many of us strives to achieve. For the benefit of those under Baktan subjugation and preservation of peace between the great dynamic, we call for the decision to act on Baktan tyranny and violence within the human systems. Without swift and bold decisions we face an even greater worsening of inter species cohesion within this chamber." "Once again, humanity in all its wisdom has shown blatant disregard for alien life and livelihood. We the Nagarian people are no strangers to piracy and crimes unspeakable to our kind. Are we to roll over while our colonists, our traders and our civilians are to be killed and tortured? Such is out of the question. " Edited by weaselwood, Jan 14 2018, 06:57 PM.

Armistice Station Council Chambers The United Federal delegate stands to his feet and reaches towards the microphone in front of him. A dark skinned man, with a thick black beard. His eyes shine a bright blue. "To blame humanity is to charge a whole race for the failings that are unrelated to us. We are just as much responsible for the Cartel as you are for your own pirates. Besides, the humans are far from having control over these sectors. Europa lies far away. Europa cannot spare manpower nor the time to deal with these pirates. If you want to waste your resources going after a rogue entity that has the predicted manpower of many of our nations. Go ahead. But we will not waste our lives in another's war." The ambassador looks at the aliens around the room. "You may try to use us as a scapegoat, and blame humanity. But you point the finger at the wrong enemy. Europa has done nothing to slight any of your nations, but we will not be bullied because of another nation." He sits back down and leans towards one of his aides, whispering something into his ear. |

Armistice Chambers Council Chambers Imperial Box The Nakar ambassador pulled his upper lip past his teeth, displaying his satisfaction with the Federations response. He then stood up almost as quickly as the human delegate sat down. "Yes, you are right, we are all equally responsible for our own pirates, this is true." he sucked in air through his teeth and stared at his feet in a staged performance, he then leaned out of his booth, looking around some, projecting his voice to the other alien species. "Now tell me, Nagarians, where is your pirate planet? Where are your two billion citizens under control of rogues and gangsters?" he then turned back to the Nakar delegation, he made sure the microphone was on. "I don't recall a large part of our population operating not only from a home world, but from colonies, do you? The fact is that only humanity has allowed its criminal element to grow so large and so bold, some would say because they are blinkered by their own ambitions! I bring the Imperial Human Representative to the fore." he nodded at the human representative for the empire, who stood up and replaced his Nakar peer at the speaking poll. Christian Urtgurge pressed his lips together and squinted in a way that spelled dissatisfaction. He rattled his fingers once then he brought his face closer to the microphone. "My kinsman, my biology. Surely we as humans can be humble and brave enough to admit when we are at fault. These Baktan lowlives are human, and through their transhumanism they disgrace us as a species. They cast away what it means to be homosapien. Which is why I urge you, we as a species must not allow ourselves to be blinded by pride, tricked by ignorance or slighted by mistrust. This chamber is one for cohesion, not partisanship!" he turns to the European representatives "No-one is accusing the Federation of anything, if anything, we want your help on this matter. We must work together if we are to secure a future for our people, all our people. Tyranny is not a legitimate form of rule, the history of every nation in this room shows this." Armistice Chambers Council Chambers Saprithid Democratic Republican Box The Saphrithids, who had otherwise lain dormant at the proceedings of the council proceeded to nod in approval. The diplomatic head of the procession, Alissa Jeadun stood and eyed the floor carefully. "The Saphrithid Democratic Republic abstains from this motion for the time being." |

Armistice Station Deep Space 2000km from Anchor Point The adrenaline was there. The total darkness of space. The lack of anything, their heat contained in their suits, the lights of the ship off. It would drive you mad, absolute nothingness. The inhaling and exhaling, deep and gurgling, the faint thump of a heartbeat in the suit. If it wasn't for the zero gravity they probably all would have been visually shaking, but the lack of atmosphere wrapped round them like a shroud; a blanket. Just a little while longer now, and the final known vestige of the ascendants would be destroyed. They cared not for the collateral, for they were on a divine quest. |

Armistice Station Council Chambers A well-dressed human with bronzed skin and an overall clean-shaven appearance emerged once the collective bickering had ended, clearing his throat. For the time being, he had been engaged in brief conversation with a Rakhan in appropriately formal garb, seated beside him, but now the time to address the others had arrived. "You are not wrong in asserting that this is an issue which we face - and it is the policy and opinion of the Greater Commonwealth that piracy is an abhorrent criminal enterprise, hazardous to the social and economic wellbeing of the collective dominions of all," He paused for a moment, to allow the sentence to hang in the air as others translated or waited for what came next. "Regardless of species." For a moment, a glance was shot towards the boxes of the Nagarian Federation and Nomad Kings. "I am inclined to agree with the gentleman speaking for Europa in this circumstance; a state cannot be held responsible for the actions of a criminal entity that rests outside its borders, particularly when it has taken measured steps to disrupt and deter such operations where it is able to do so." Armistice Station Council Chambers Nakar Imperial Box The Nakar representatives look to each other as the Commonwealth representative says his peace. Generally it seemed like the vote had gone well, they appeared to be holding some sort of majority in the chamber. Challenging human legitimacy was something the Nakar had been doing for years now and like a primitive gemstone they were in the processes of purifying their technique after many hurdles. Man was somewhat of a defiant animal, but that didn't mean that they couldn't be goaded into political pitfalls. The USC had disappeared, and with it their political finesse. Christian Urtgurge hadn't sat back down during the Commonwealth address. He scratched the side of his nose and fixed his spectacles as the address had continued. When the Commonwealth diplomat had finished Christian leaned forward to microphone. "So, we are all in agreement that these pirates do cause a problem. Piracy," he then raises an affirmative gesture to the Commonwealth box, "is a criminal enterprise effecting us all. Let us act to destroy these pirates, starting with the head of the snake. We must set our sites on the Baktan cartel. In times of peace, the armistice fleet could be used to assist our current national efforts." |
